We left our heart in San Francisco storage

As 2009 drew to a close, the ACME Chophouse staff were up to their ears in cardboard and packing peanuts as they prepared the space for construction. Once every last fork and knife were wrapped in bubble wrap, the final item to go was the famous Heart of San Francisco. A skilled art storage company gently lifted the heart onto a small dolly and wrapped it carefully for transport to the art storage facility – its temporary home until our March opening.

Although we were sad to see ACME shutdown and the Giants heart trucked off to storage, the blank canvas that now exists at 3rd and King only made us daydream about the exciting things to come in 2010! It’s too bad there wasn’t a glass left in the house to raise for one final farewell and cheers to the memories!

Dust off your hardhats because we’re taking you behind the yellow tape with a construction sneak peek in the next few weeks!
